COMPOSITION COMPETITION

Chloe Dockendorff, Amy Cormier, Simon Wright and Seth Dockendorff

These 4 composers will each have a composition forwarded to the
National CFMTA Student Composer Competition for judging this summer.

These students of PEIRMTA teachers received various awards in
categories ranging from 8 years to adult.

Dr. Steel Recital Hall, University of PEI

(LtoR) Emily Proude, Chloe Dockendorff and Amy Cormier each won first place respectively in the 15, 8 (both
instrumental and vocal), and 11 years and under categories in the recent PEIRMTA Composition Competition.
The four compositions were recommended by the judge, composer Dr. Jim Dickson, to be forwarded to the National
Canada Music Week® Music Writing Competition, sponsored by the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Associations.

Friends Perform Composition
(LtoR) Cyril Armstrong, Nigel Weaver, Carl Mathis and Terry Pratt performed Pratt's composition "You English
Words; A Barbershop Quartette"
, which won first place in the Open Category in the Composition Competition.

Faith Dockendorff and her daughter Chloe.
Chloe submitted four compositions, winning 1st and 2nd place in each of the Instrumental and Vocal
categories for 8 years and under - already a prolific composer! Faith accompanied Chloe for the Vocal
awards, performing the piano parts (that Chloe had written), while Chloe sang.
